Who We Are / Mater Dei Early Childhood Education

Mater Dei Early Childhood Education (MDECE) offers centre-based early childhood education programs for babies and toddlers with developmental delay and/or disability and all children from birth to their transition to School at 6 years of age including children who have been assessed with profound, severe, moderate or mild developmental delay and/or disability.

We provide a strong person-centred, family-focused approach in which educators work with parents, carers, guardians, advocates and professionals to collaboratively determine and implement each child’s realistic, achievable short-term outcomes and, in turn, the child’s medium-term and long-term outcomes.

What We Offer

We welcome all children from birth through their transition to School including children who have been assessed with profound, severe, moderate or mild developmental delay and/or disability.

Our suite of programs includes:

Mater Dei Play to Learn Groups for babies, toddlers and children from birth to 3 years of age who have been assessed with profound, severe, moderate or mild developmental delay and/or disability.
Mater Dei Transition to School Programs or all children in the year before they start their Kindergarten placement in the most appropriate School.
Family networking for all parents, guardians and family members.
Consultancy seminars, workshops, training and information sessions for all parents, guardians, families, advocates and colleagues in other early childhood education services.
